Diastika…
is an Indonesian singer-songwriter as well as an architect. Being American born and Indonesian raised, she is the product of two worlds. She thrives of the duality of both her home countries and double careers. Her music and visuals plays off of her art and passion for architecture.
Although she’s been writing songs her whole life, her journey as a singer began in 2016. She started her music career in Indonesia, when an album meant only for friends and family was shared by her mom. To her surprise, this 9 track personal album gained a lot of positive attention and even won Album of the Year 2016 at Jazz Goes to Campus Awards.
In the years since then, Diastika has developed her personal music style more and more. Her niche style is hard to put in a genre, but if you took pop, RnB, and a sprinkle of jazz you might get half way there.
She has a Bachelor’s of Architecture from SCI-Arc and a Masters of architecture from Harvard University. If you ask Diastika whether she's more of a singer or an architect, without hesitation she'd tell you she wouldn't be one without the other.
